WINDCREST, Texas -- The City of Windcrest will be having its next warrant round up from September 4th-September 7th.

Windcrest police officers will be looking for those with outstanding warrants.

"Just because we're a small city, a lot of people don't think that we will take the warrant seriously, " said Warrant Officer Troy Fackelman.

Officer Fackelman said the City of Windcrest currently has 10,856 outstanding warrants.

"We probably have twice the number of warrants than we do number of people that live here, " replied Officer Fackelman.

Most of the violators Officer Fackelman said are speeders and don't live in Windcrest. "Who don't know the speed limits in and around the city, " added Officer Fackelman.

To take care of your warrant you can call Windcrest Municipal Court at (210)655-0022, or head to the court.

The court is located at 8601 Midcrown Dr.

Even better people should have to swipe their ID when entering any bar, then submit to a breath test when they leave that puts out a warning to officers with the license plate number of any car they own if they are over the limit. Then there should be camera's on every street across the entire city every 50 feet that monitors the city 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Also every police and sheriff car should have license plate readers so every car they pass will be scanned and checked against warrant, insurance, and license information. I am not sure how this would shrink government but hey at least we could impound hundreds of thousands of cars per year and increase the jail populations which are no way overcrowded due to non violent drug charges. sandan you have a great idea we should make mandatory road blocks some kind of law. Sigh

When is San Antonio, Windcrest and Bexar County going to have road blocks again? Get these creeps off our roads, especially those who have no licenses, no insurance, and those who can't prove ownership of the car they are driving. Why do Texans coddle their illegal drivers? While stopped in my car at red lights here in Texas, I have been rammed three time, and in all cases, the drivers had no valid licenses or insurance. In the last case, I was rear-ended by a 43-year-old who was living with his mother. I spent 2 weeks in bed and have had neck and back pain for over 20 years. Why is Texas so backward in enforcing it's driver rules?
