SAN ANTONIO -- City and county officials are continuing their efforts to prevent the spread of West Nile virus.
The virus claimed its first victim in our area Friday. The 77-year-old military veteran died Friday after spending more than a week at San Antonio Military Medical Center. There have been three confirmed cases of West Nile in Bexar County.
While a city official initially stated zip codes where positive samples of the West Nile virus have been found would be posted on their website, News 4 WOAI has since been told the information will not be available.
Bexar County officials have released maps showing where their workers will be fogging (See attached maps).
The county is also setting out mosquito traps to test for West Nile. They have 7 traps and have ordered 9 more. Officials said it will take 1 day to get the results.
