SAN ANTONIO- A Texas town is on the brink of running out of drinking water.

Spicewood, which is northwest of Austin, would be the first community in the state to run out of water during Texas's historic drought, despite the fact that it is located near Lake Travis.  The town relies on wells and not the lake to provide water for its 1,100 residents.

The wells are about to run dry, so the Lower Colorado River Authority had two tanker trucks deliver 8,000 gallons of water on Monday.  Officials plan to bring in water for a few more weeks while the state looks at other ways to get water to the town.
