SAN ANTONIO -  Wal-mart is rationing the sale of ammunition.

The retailer is limiting ammunition sales at its stores across the country to three boxes per customer, per day.

Wal-mart said demand for ammunition has been high since the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut last month.

The purchase limit will stay in place until the retailer is able to resolve the shortage.

Wal-mart said the decision to ration ammunition has nothing to do with politics.

Rationing of ammunition maybe the new trend now. At other stores I've seen 5 boxes and 10 boxes per person respectively. And even with these limits, ammo is being sold almost as fast as they can unload them from the trailers.

Those in the know will tell you they have never seen anything like what is happening right now with arms sales and ammunition sales. People are buying everything they can get their hands on. People are worried about what they see happening in this country.
