SAN ANTONIO -- The West Nile Virus is in Bexar County, and it is important to protect yourself.
The Texas AgriLife Extension Service is offering free classes to anyone wanting to learn more.
Board certified entomologist Molly Keck will cover the basics of mosquitoes, mosquito prevention and management, and West Nile virus.
"There are 3,000 species of mosquitoes. Females are the only ones that bite. And every 3 nights, they can lay up to 300 eggs," explained Keck. "The more we understand mosquitoes, the better we can eliminate them."
There is space available for the next classes that will be held at the Central Library and the San Antonio Botanical Garden.
