MANITOBA, Canada (NBC News Channel) -- The basketball coach at Canada's Brandon University basketball left the bench to showcase his skills and won a lucky student a semester's tuition.
Young Mason Kaluzniak chose Coach Gil Cheung to take the shot for him during half-time of the Bobcats' game on Friday night. Turns out, Kaluzniak chose wisely.
Despite wearing a suit, coach squared-up and drained the half-court shot. The crowd erupts and coach Cheung takes off for his victory celebration.
Surprisingly Kaluzniak, who just won a semester of free tuition, just stands there with his hands up while coach relishes in the moment.
It was a big win for Kaluzniak, but the Bobcats couldn't carry that momentum into the game. They lost that night 70-61 to the University of Regina.
