SAN ANTONIO -- Four people were beaten during a home invasion on the Northwest Side.
Police were called to a home in the 1900 block of West Ridgewood Court Thursday night. The victims, two men and two women, said two men stormed in the door shortly before 10:00 p.m. They said one of the intruders, who appeared to have a gun, began beating one of the men, forced him into a bathroom, and closed the door. The intruder then chased after the other man in the home, who had run to the back door to try to escape. The victim said the intruder hit him in the back of the head with some sort of object, causing him to fall to the ground. He told police the intruder then reached into his pockets, grabbed his wallet, and ran off.
While that was going on, the other intruder attacked the two women, who were sitting at a dining table. The women said the man hit one of them with a chair, and then flipped over the table, pinning them underneath it while he continued kicking and punching them. They told police he left after the other intruder ran after the victim whose wallet was taken.
That victim said he recognized one of the attackers, saying the man had come to the home trying to sell jerseys from a duffle bag. The victim said he was going to buy some of the jerseys but the man selling them did not have change for a one hundred dollar bill.
A witness said they saw one of the men run after and jump into the back of a white truck as it took off. The witness could not see who was driving the truck.
