SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Independent School District has released video shot from inside a school bus that plummeted off a highway last week.

The accident happened in the northbound lanes of Interstate 37 near East Commerce last Thursday. The bus was hit by another vehicle, causing it to veer out of the mainlanes of the highway and over the guardrail. The bus then crashed into the sidewalk below right in front of the Comfort Suites hotel.

Three people, including a student, were injured in the crash.

In answer to rhancox, at that particular area, in order to merge onto ih35s/ i10w you have to be in the far left lane.

well you also have to remember this is san antonio and you can be doing 70 in a 65 driving in the fast lane and people still fly by doing 80+ so without know the speed the bus was going (which most likely was that fast) we cant really know if the driver was actually fine being in that lane. but as for the idiot coming up the side swerving i hope they got charged. sorry but your going to fast if you lose controll of your car that easily

It's a miracle nobody was seriously hurt, however, if you look at the front view, the bus in the fast lane and all the traffic is whizzing by him in the right two lanes. If he's going that slow, what is he doing in the far left lane? It's no excuse for the driver that clipped the bus, but you have to expect other drivers are going to be trying go get past a slow moving bus on their way home from work.
