VIA bus rates to increase March 1st

SAN ANTONIO -- Riding the bus is going to cost more starting March 1st.

A "local governmental approval committee" approved fare increases for VIA Metropolitan Transit Tuesday.

The following increases got the green light:

Regular bus service - from $1.10 to $1.20
Regular bus half fare - from 55 cents to 60 cents
VIAtrans service - from $1.75 to $1.95
Monthly Big Pass - from $30.00 to $35.00
Monthly Big Pass half fare - from $15.00 to $17.50

Its for Primo and the 1M dollar traffic software and maybe Xanax.

Have to pay for that new rail system, even though they can't seem to fill the buses they have now.
