SAN ANTONIO - Albert Uresti beats Ernesto Castro for the Democratic nomination in the race for Bexar County Tax Assessor-Collector.

Uresti now moves on to face Republican Robert Stovall in November.

Current Tax Assessor-Collector, Sylvia Romo, decided not to seek re-election.
Romo lost the Democratic Primary for Congressional District 35 to Austin Congressman Lloyd Doggett back in May.

Well if Albert does not win maybe Comm. Elizondo will create a position for him like he did Romo in the new found position of Deputy Director of Economic Dev. Romo could not even run a Tax Office what makes her qualifyed to bring business into the county. Typical politics at work again. The sad thing is the tax payer picks up the bill for favors other people promise. What crazy person told Romo she had a chance in real politics anyway. Must be the same people who create job positions during a "County Wide Freeze". Comical.
