NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas -- A horse that residents say was left to starve on a piece of property in Comal County has died.
Neighbors who were upset with the property owner contacted News 4 WOAI and told us he was not caring for animals on his property. A News 4 WOAI crew went to the property to speak with those neighbors and contacted Comal County officials after spotting a horse who appeared emaciated lying on the ground and a donkey who also appeared malnourished.

The Comal County Sheriff's Office confirmed Thursday that a veterinarian went out to the property Wednesday night. By the time he arrived, however, the horse had died.
Neighbors told us the donkey has been removed from the property, but the sheriff did not confirm that with us.
News 4 WOAI was also told no charges against the property owner are being pursued at this time, but the case will be turned over to the
Comal County District Attorney's Office for review.
