SAN ANTONIO-A man is in jail and two officers are recovering after a high speed chase Saturday morning.

News 4 WOAI has learned an officer spotted the driver run a red light at General McMullen and Highway 90.

The officer then tried to pull over the driver of the vehicle and that's when the man took off.

We're told the driver led police on a chase reaching speeds to 100 miles per hour.

Two patrol cars crashed into each other during the pursuit and we're told both officers were unharmed.

Police called in their Helicopter to follow the car.  And the man ended up ditching his car and taking off on foot.

In the end, officers were able to catch the man.

He faces charges of felony evading and multiple traffic violations.
