SAN ANTONIO -- Two men were killed and a third was seriously injured in a fiery two-vehicle crash in Atascosa County early Wednesday.

The accident happened just before 7:00 a.m. on Farm to Market Road 476, about two miles west of Poteet. Investigators say a Pontiac traveling west on FM 476 veered out of its lane and slammed into a Honda traveling in the eastbound lane. The Honda burst into flames upon impact.

Both people traveling in the Honda were killed. The Texas Department of Public Safety later identified the men as 29-year-old Dwayne Lawrence Depute, who was driving the car, and 33-year-old Columbus Wayne Norment. Both were from Poteet.

The driver of the Pontiac, 27-year-old Daniel Rivera, also of Poteet, was airlifted to University Hospital in critical condition.
