SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio firefighters battled a two-alarm fire on the city’s West Side. The call came out just before 5 a.m. at a hotel under construction at Loop 410 and Marbach Road.

Firefighters believe the blaze started at the construction site, but they’re not sure how it started. After the winds picked up at about 6am, fire crews switched to a defensive aerial approach to extinguishing the flames as it ripped through the building’s roof.

News 4 WOAI Today reporter Kristina De Leon was the first on the scene. After talking with firefighters, she found out the flames gutted the building. Crews also told her they were concerned that the flames might spread to nearby manufactured model homes.

SAFD pulled water lines across Marbach Road, so traffic was diverted away from that area.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
