SAN ANTONIO -- Officials in Real County have confirmed that the third person found dead following this weekend's mysterious double murder in the small community of Camp Wood was the shooter himself, Robert Bryan Jones. The local Sheriff's Office tells News 4 WOAI that it appears Jones died of self-inflicted gunshot wounds.
On Saturday afternoon the Department of Public Safety, Real County Sheriff's Office and Border Patrol were on a massive ground and air search for Jones after he allegedly shot and killed two people on private property between the towns of Camp Wood and Leakey in Real County.
Sources tell News 4 the deceased body of the suspected shooter was discovered in a ravine approximately nine miles outside of Leakey, Texas.
Officials in the small county of Real say the investigation into what appears to be a murder-suicide is ongoing and the names of the victims are being withheld pending completion of the investigation.
Leakey and Camp Wood are located about 120 miles west of San Antonio.
