SAN ANTONIO - A truck smashed into a home on the Southwest Side.

It happened at 7:30 Saturday night. Police tell us a woman driving a Chevy Avalanche crashed into her neighbor's home, backing into a child's bedroom. She said her foot slipped off the gas pedal, and she tried to slam on her brakes, but they didn't work. Officers think she hit the gas instead of the brakes.

The family was in the living room and no one was hurt.

"Officers think she hit the gas instead of the brakes." Occam's razor suggests this is the more likely cause.

Your foot slipped off the gas pedal, which slows down the truck and this caused you to hit a house? Whatever. How come no one's breaks work anymore too?
