SAN ANTONIO -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on Thursday issued a nationwide recall for about 45,000 Kawasaki cordless drills.
The CPSC warned about trigger switches that can short and generate excessive heat, potentially causing severe burns.
Alltrade Tools had received 33 reports as of Thursday, related to the product’s potential hazard.
The cordless drills were sold at Costco stores from May 2011 through February 2012.
The recall affects Kawasaki cordless drills, model 691761, sold in green and black color combination, with a 19.2v battery pack and the serial numbers listed below.

The model number can be found on a label located on the right side of the drill.
If you have one of these drills, stop using it immediately and
register to receive a free, replacement drill.
Alltrade Tools is directly contacting all customers who purchased this product. The drills should not be returned to Costco.
