SAN ANTONIO -- They're calling them ‘Tea Party’ protests and they're going on all across the country. But San Antonio’s is expected to be one of the biggest and thousands of people attended. It’s all to send a message they hope will be heard. Those here want their message to be loud and clear and they expressed it in many ways.

Although the event Website asked that no one bring signs there were plenty of them.

Many are also connecting Wednesday’s protest to the original American Revolution's Tea Party in Boston and, of course, being at the Alamo the Shrine of Texas Liberty. Some say they don't want lose that.

Paul Holder says he’s there because “We are heading toward a socialist government and I don't want to see any part of that.”

The San Antonio Tea Party grabbed national attention with radio and TV talk show host Glenn Beck airing his TV show here on Fox While many came to see that, others came to say ‘no more spending.’

Nicole Gess says, “It just doesn't make sense all the spending the government is doing. Where are they getting the money from?”

Some even took off work to come here like Casey Shattick who says, “The earmarks that we know are in the bill. It's an opportunity to say, ‘Enough, you need to start listening to us.’

twister, look at it this way: the last eight years were SUPPOSE to be conservative leadership. Now we have liberal leadership in office. If the cons. spent as much money as we all know they did, what do you think the next 4 years will get us into? I don't know what everybody's agenda was for going but mine was to alert Washington that the spending frenzy is over. The people have had enough and we ARE going to have our way. WE own the Government, not the other way around.

Look at what Tom Tancredo experienced the other night at the University of North Carolina - rather than give him a chance to speak his views (First Amendment anyone?) the "student body" rioted, shouted insults, and essentially ran Tancredo off the campus. Liberal or fascist - you tell me. To the best of my knowledge, the right-wing wackos behaved pretty well across the country yesterday, despite Ms. Napolitano's concerns.

Makes you wonder what else the liberal media is not telling you!? It is funny (sorta) that the major media BBC has more about the protests than NBC, CBS, or ABC. Please do you your homework about what the protest was about. Do a little reading at the website and look at the real agenda. I am beginning to see what is going on.Protect Obama from any bad press. My husband was telling me about how we weren't getting all the news and I thought he was being silly but after yesterday I am convinced he is correct.

We had a large protest here on the Colorado River in Yuma, AZ also. This is a real grass roots uprising. The Obama administration will not be able to deny it. We will attempt to unseat all of congressional members who voted for the stimulas package.

It was interesting to see a group of mainly conservative people assembled in support of issues impacting all Americans. Now, if the GOP actually learns something from this and unhitches its wagon from the evangelical fundamentalists, they may recover in 2010 and 2012. Gay marriage, abortion, and creationism should not be planks in a platform. Get over it everybody. Practice your religion, live your religion everyday, but let other people live their own lives without the benefit of religious legislation. (applies to the truly anti-religious as well.)
