According to some the world would have ended on December 21, 2012, to coincide with the end of the 5,200-year Maya calendar.

Thousands gathered in the heart of the "Maya World" to witness whatever was to come.

News 4 WOAI's Patricio Espinoza was in the ancient ruins of Chichen Itza, a city built by the Maya civilization, where one era is ending and another is just beginning.
