The game of chicken on sequestration
WASHINGTON D.C. --
Congress has two weeks to find a solution to the sequester, a nice sounding word until one digs into the fine print, reports The Washington Guardian. According to the watchdog website, sequester is an across the board financial blizzard to the likes Washington has never seen.
Some economists say the sequester will send America back into recession and that presents grave concern about our national security.
Rep. Duncan Hunter Jr., R-California, says if sequester goes through there will be fewer ships than we had during World War 1.
“We are going to have fewer planes that we had since the air force broke out from the Army Corps in the mid 1940s,” he told The Washington Guardian.. “ It's going to take a dramatic toll on the U.S. Military, and it's going to stop us from being in the places that we need to be at."
