From NBC News, Bob Redell reports NORTH POLE, Alaska -- Lists have been coming in by the tens and tens of thousands to the United States Post Office here near Santa's Headquarters.
"It's good for the kids... but it does increase our workload…but it's a little something neat about North Pole, Alaska," said one worker.
One thing about North Pole...the kids are tenacious. Not even freezing temps, less than four hours of sunlight, or even bunk-bed injuries will stop them from personally delivering the most important words to come out of their mouths this year.
"What do you want for Christmas?” asked Santa.
One little girl replied, “I want a flashlight for Christmas.” Another said, "A DS..." and still another asked for "a doll..."
What is on top of Santa's wish list? Ear plugs!
