SAN ANTONIO -- A student was hit by a car in front of Madison High School Tuesday morning.

The teen was crossing O'Connor Road at the intersection of Stahl Road just before 7:00 a.m. Tuesday, when he was hit by a slow moving car. News 4 WOAI was told the teen was reportedly texting and had his head down at the time of the accident.

The teen was bruised but was able to walk away after he was checked out by EMS workers.

News 4 WOAI was told the teen previously received a ticket for jaywalking at the same location. Neither the teen nor the driver was ticketed in connection with Tuesday's accident.

If you are walking in the street, you need to pay attention... getting run over can kill you... and when you are driving a car, you need to pay attention...

There won't be a lawsuit if the kid was jaywalking...again. Chances are this mensa walked right out into the street like a dumb arsh. Idiots like this kid have walked into my grocery cart at HEB because they have their face buried in their phone. Unluckily for society, these kids are our future leaders. WE ARE DOOMED!!!

Here comes the lawsuit. I'm sure his injuries will become "much worse" once the ambulance chasers talk to his parents.
