Text in anonymous tips to U.S. Marshals

SAN ANTONIO - The U.S. Marshals have announced a new texting program to track down fugitives.

Tipsters can now send tips to the U.S. Marshals by texting the keyword, "Lone Star" and your tip to 847411 or TIP411.

By doing so, tipsters and their phone numbers can remain anonymous.

I can see how that would be true if your with sat att or sprint or what ever if you get a pre paid phone through tracfone its totaly anonymous no name at all they still may have your number .but i dont see how that would do any good with out a name to tie to it

How can you text an anonymous tip when it shows the phone number that sends the text???????????????
