DALLAS (NBC News Channel) -- Kevin Madison, a Dallas-area teenager, weighed nearly 400 pounds three years ago.
Kevin dropped 180 pounds in one year and kept the weight off. Kevin did two things to lose the weight: He changed the way he ate and stepped up his exercise routine.
Kevin first decided to lose weight after a doctor told him he was too fat to play football. But Kevin says once the weight came off, he decided to play the sport he really loved: basketball.
"It's incredible," Kevin said. "You know, I actually found something I enjoy without me even knowing that I'm losing weight."
