First, the writer was wrong to use the word "transvestite"! It's crossdresser, if she is one - she may be transsexual for all I know. The writer needs to consult their AP Style Guide, and so does the editor! Second, the victim is NOT a "he/she" or "tranny" and *definitely* NOT an "it"! She is a human being, with the same rights as everyone else. Anyone who used "it" or were insulting to the victim has been reported for abuse. Third, who knows why she was walking in the neighborhood that late at night? For *anyone* to insinuate she was "hooking" is not only a pathetic loser, but a degenerate as well. There are many stories of crossdressers who're in the closet who walk around the block enfemme late at night so they don't encounter their neighbors. For the record, I'm a 50-year-old, male-to-female transsexual, who lives in Ohio. You never know who in your neighborhood dresses in drag for a lark, or to relax after a hard day/week at work, or is transitioning from one gender to the other. This poor tranny did not deserve to be stabbed on the street. When I grew up on that part of town no man or boy for that matter would have gon near a tranny for fear of being labeled as such themselves.
