Did you bother to read the story before posting Blueman????? Everyone on the road bears responsibility for maintaining safety. All dark clothing, no helmet, no lights is a complete abrogation of personal responsibility. I am so sorry to hear that a young man has died, but to blame the motorist for "slaying" him is irresponsible and a serious overstatement.

If the kid was on a poorly lit street, wearing dark clothing with minimal, if any reflectors and no lighting, well, this is what happens. It is as sad as it is preventable. No helmet? It's a helmet, not a force field. I ride a bike. I'm always looking for ways to be more visible. Flashing lights, 8-10 at any one time. Florescent yellow shirt, vest, and seat cover. 8 foot high flag and lite pole. 4 mirrors. A helmet. I've seen plenty of people, dark clothes, no lights, no helmet. I always wonder if that's the last time I'll see them.

God bless the victim and his family. Another senseless bicycle slaying in our streets and yet another motorist not held accountable for taking a life. How pathetic and bias the reporting on this tragedy. So let me get this right..,it is ok to run down a bike rider on the streets of san antonio as long as after we do so we say "gee I did not see them". Bike riders can be seen in dark hours, almost all bikes have reflective features which are production requirements. Moreover, there exists an requirement to bikers as was stated in the previous post. The consequence to the driver should be a minimum of licence revocation. If a driver does not have the visual and mental prerequisites, they are nothing more than a menace to society and have no business on the roads. Common DA lets support the value of human life in our city.

Kids and teens have nothing to do after 6 pm because of the stupid Daylight savings. Give them another hour of sun, they are cooped up in school all day and then the museums and everything closes at 5. 7:30pm and it's already pitch black, let's stop the stupid Daylight Savings and give it to young people to be outdoors. Many countries don't do D.S. and it is very unhealthy to change sleep patterns twice a year. I feel bad for both the driver and the victim, let kids and teens have some evening sunlight!!!!! I've emailed politicians but we need more against it!!
