Anyone who is near someone from the sheriffs dept. knows that they can't run much less wrestle with anyone cause they can't get enough tacos and donuts in them! this is a tragic situation because a young soldier was not provided the opportunity to explain himself. law enforcement in SA will assume first and ask questions later. how many more will be murdered like this before officers are held responsible?

@Dixie, read the story on mysa.com.....gives you a better prespective about the incident. I am not saying the Sheriff was in the right, all I am saying is let the facts speak for themselves.

I agree with you Superspurs, but I still have my questions. It seems like the crime rate is exploding, along with possible law enforcement problems & complaints. Criminals and their families are going to play it out, obviously, but the reality is that as the crime rate and personal dangers increase, so do mistakes and errors in judgment by law enforcement, which is a natural progression due to personal safety fears. I'll NEVER forget visiting Hemisfair, leaving the city late at night using the loop (whatever it was back then) and a car on fire with people inside. Cop drove right by it, so we did, too. My dad said that if a cop was to afraid to stop (on a side of town that was notorious back in that day), then we weren't stopping either. That picture of that burning car with victims inside has stayed with me all of my life, and is painful.

Like I said, lets wait for the facts. If it's a coverup thats what we pay Susan Reed for.

I'd like to know why the officer's dashcam wasn't working. I'd also like to know why it seems that an inordinate number of booking photos we see show the one arrested with facial damage.

This thing stinks to high heaven. The man was suspicious because he was walking? Then suddenly became violent? Really was there a serious crime reported in the area that would warrant stopping someone that was walking? Way to go officer this unarmed young man is dead now because you shot him 4 times. A real simple "Are you ok? Do you require assistance? Have a safe night would've been just fine. Instead we now will never know what really happened that lead to this man being shot 4 times and killed over what again exactly please remind us again. Take off that badge and take off that pistol dangerous people like you I do not need nor want patrolling this town. Oh and for the record this was not a traffic stop the man was walking and who said he was drunk? or even violent? Oh wait that's right the officer that's trying to justify shooting this unarmed young man whose only crime was that he was walking.

ONCE AGAIN WE SEE THAT THE POLICE FORCE WILL GET AWAY WITH MURDER. A senior police officer with that many years of experience duty has to use deadly force on a young man. Who!!! was defenseless. The young man had no weapon. He could have used another means to apprehend the individual. Mace could have been one of the tactics.This officer used poor judgement in this case. If this officer at one o'clock in the early morning couldn't wait for backup. Then I believe that his intentions already set to use his weapon as a defense and not training capabilities that are taught instead of deadly force. If his poor judgement is interfering as a police officer. Then he should be put out of the police force and be put on trial for murder.

hey superspurs, what part of being shot several times don't you understand? the problem with law enforcement here in s.a. is shoot first and cover up the story later. 36 hours to let a family know a relative has died is too long. and it wasn't a traffic stop. the young man was walking not driving. a traffic stop is when there is a vehicle involved. it was cold blooded murder in my opinion. if you want to disable a drunk you use a stun gun or a baton or pepper spray. of course those items don't apply to law enforcement because they are trained to shoot. and true, we don't know the whole story because the other witness to the incident is dead. so who do you think they are going to believe? cowards with guns.
