SAN ANTONIO-- A teenager who had been named a person of interest in connection with the shooting death of a former Atascosa County commissioner is now considered a suspect in the case.

Deputies say 19-year-old Manuel De Los Reyes Galeas' crime spree began in South Bexar County, where he allegedly fired shots at his 15-year-old ex-girlfriend's house.  From there, investigators believe he crashed the vehicle he was driving in Atascosa County and then shot and killed 54-year-old Tommy Shearrer near FM 3006 and St. Augustine.

“We learned that he possibly wrecked or crashed on 281 South," said Bexar County Sheriff’s spokesperson Louis Antu. "Unfortunately, there was a victim who we believe stopped to assist. Atascosa has probable cause and now believes he committed that murder.”

Warrants have been issued for Galeas’ arrest for deadly conduct, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and murder.  Galeas is considered armed and dangerous.

If you see Galeas or have any information about his whereabouts, please immediately call 911.
