SAN ANTONIO - A teen was killed when he was struck by a train on the Southwest Side.

The accident happened around 11:00 a.m. Sunday on the tracks near General Hudnell and Highway 90. Police say 17-year-old Vincent Sauceda was spray-painting graffiti on a train when he was hit by another train going in the opposite direction. Police say the train's engineer warned Sauceda the train was coming.

“They alerted him by blowing his horn several times. But he went to get his personal effects out of the rail that the train was coming on, and he got hit by the front first locomotive,” explained Sgt. Earl Tovar from the San Antonio Police Department.

Paramedics tried to help Sauceda, then pronounced him dead.
