I first landed in San Antonio in 1951. Lackland basic training. There were Pachuca gangs, drive by shootings, people getting stabbed or shot at family gatherings, hookers at the Alamo. Nothing new.

I remember the friday night news in SA back in the 1960s. Lupe Valdez stabbed Juan Rodriguez at the Lone Star Ice House on S. Zarzamora. Lupe said it was because Juan was staring at him. Nothin's changed in the good old Alamo City. Their grandchildren are still at it.
