My child goes to this school, NISD did not notify us as their automated system failed to execute correctly... We found out about it here on WOAI... I called and Ward stated our emergency contact records were up to date and they don't have an answer to why we weren't notified. I called the district and they advised that many many parents did not hear of the incident and had the same problem. However, they feel that Ward is following procedures correctly... by not calling? I disagree! Epic Fail... Especially with the recent events, I want to hear if there is a LOCKDOWN. Get your act together WARD.

I'm guessing the guy lived near the school. Casually waking round with an air rifle, waiting for a ride. It's the only potential scenario that I can imagine being highly likely.

I am just so glad the community is looking out for our children and take serious precautions to protect them. Kudos to SAPD and NISD for acting quickly.
