SAN ANTONIO -- Police have arrested a man they say shot and killed his sister's boyfriend.
Police were called to a home in the 2000 block of Delgado around 3:00 p.m. Thursday. When officers arrived, a woman was screaming and yelling that her boyfriend, 21-year Ryan Yearley, was dead and was inside a back building on the property. The officers then searched the building and found Yearley's body in a bathtub wrapped inside a mattress.
The woman, who lives at the home with Yearley, her brother, and her baby, told officers she was sleeping and was awakened by a gunshot around 4:00 a.m. Thursday. She said when she opened her door, she saw her brother, 19-year-old Jesus Ramiro Rivera, standing over Yearley with a shotgun in his hand and Yearley on the floor not moving and bleeding. She told investigators her brother threatened to shoot her too if she said anything.
The officers searched the house and found a shotgun inside a closet, covered in blankets.
Police located Rivera at another location and took him to police headquarters for questioning. Investigators he admitted shooting Yearley but claimed did so in self-defense since Yearley had a knife.
Rivera was arrested and has been charged with murder.
