SAN ANTONIO -- An elderly San Antonio couple is trying to piece together why their daughter and her boyfriend would allegedly plan a brutal attack on them while they slept.

"I can never imagine, never, never imagine for one minute that she was going to do this, never," said Maria Astroga.

Maria is still recovering and has a broken wrist and black eye. Her husband of 40 years has 18 stitches inside his mouth, a fractured chin and a broken arm. Maria told News 4 WOAI her daughter, 19-year-old Teresa Astroga, and her daughter's boyfriend, 22-year-old Luis Trevino, had planned out what was apparently supposed to look like a kidnapping at 5:00 a.m. last Thursday.

"He said get up you "F" get up you "F," recalled Maria.

Maria said Trevino held a knife to their daughter's throat to make it look like he was kidnapping her and beat her and her husband with a cane.

Trevino and Teresa Astroga got away with the elderly couple's money and car, but law enforcement caught up to them in Seguin where they were arrested. The young couple are facing multiple charges.

The girl was their granddaughter. The news was incorrect. I first saw this on another news channel. She met this "boyfriend" on-line. I feel bad for the grandparents. They probably did alot to help her for whatever reason she didnt have her parents. This is heart breaking to them having to go through this but they are going to be okay. Right now they are not forgiving.

I agree maybe she was somehow adopted..I don't see how a true daughter would ever do that.. I hope she gets the MAX..

There is something bothering me about this story. On TV they said the husband and wife were in their late 60's or early 70's. Given that is correct how in the world did they have a teenage daughter? Nothing was said about adoption. They would have been in their 50's when this girl was born which is very late for raising a child. That said, I understand when the mother says her daughter is dead to her. That would terrify me too. I hope they heal well and somehow come out of this okay. I certainly hope they don't put up any money for bail etc. These two don't need to be in the general populous, if they do this now it will only get worse.
