PEARSALL, Texas-- A mother is outraged after she said her 10 year old son was ordered by his teacher to wear scotch tape over his mouth at school. The woman did not want to be identified. Her son attends Pearsall Intermediate school.

"It hurts me, it makes me mad, and it angers me, " she said. The mom went on to say her son was ordered to put the tape over his mouth because he was talking. "I know he can talk, but the tape goes to far, " said the parent.

The parent claims her son had the tape over his mouth for almost an hour, and he was feeling light headed. "He would have to remove the tape a little bit to take deep breaths or even swallow, '' she went on to say.

According to district superintendent Dr. Esthela Allison the teacher is on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of a district investigation. "This is a personnel matter, " added Dr. Allison.

disipline is a problem at Pearsall ISD the problem is not the teachers. They have no support from the administration. How come no one is talking about or reporting the fight clubs at the Junior High school. My child attends this campus and it has come to my attention that the girls and boys go into the restrooms daily and have 10 min. fights. video tape them and post them. The Principle knows about it yet nothing is done. The amount of fights in the junior high and high school campuses is enough to make these campuses unsafe but it is not reported to TEA. It is hidden by the administration. When I tried to talk to school board members about they did not want to hear it. So whos fault is it when the state mandates you improve your state test scores because they are low and students that have no respect for authority keep you from teaching. What do you do?

This mother should home school her son if he has special needs. If he over talks then fix the problem mom. Enough with thye complaints with all these special needs students. They should have their own school.

This punk was most likely disturbing the class in so me way--thereby stopping the teacher from actually presenting the lesson to the class. When a kid disturbs the class he stops instruction for all other students in the classroom. We must have very strict rules for discipline in our classrooms. Any student who disrupts classroom instruction should be expelled for at least one year and this crap might stop. By the way --look at how the USA compares to other countries around the world in math, science, etc. We are somewhere between 25th and 35th in the rankings. The reason for this is two-fold- no disipline in the classrooms ( disruptive students not dealt with properly--they should be expelled) and passing students on when they should be failed.High standards should be set to pass a class and those standards followed 100%.If a student fails a class --he must repeat it again --no matter how many times it takes. Only with these measures will this nation really beging to compete globally with other nations.

Bottom line guys if the parents teach their kids to respect authority and to behave in school, none of this happens...its cause and effect.

I am amazed and surprised that most comments back the teacher as I also do. I have an uncle that used to teach in Pearsall and 4 cousins that teach in same town. All of them have told me the horror stories on how kids behave and how parents do not support the teachers. Sad stories! These young brats that do not respect their own parents or teachers will grow up to be bigger problems in life. These same parents will be saying "Mijo was a good kid, he didn't deserve to be shot just because he broke into a house" or "Mijo would never hurt his baby" on and on and on. Parents need to be parents and make sure their little mocosos learn how to behave and do what they are told to do at home and at school!

calling kids in general these days "p*ssies" has nothing to do with the blisterings I got as a kid LOL...i respect authority, as kids these days do not...i have many friends who are underpaid teachers who have to put up with these little fkers everyday...why? because they love kids. i WISH they had the authority as they did back in the day to paddle these little kids' a88es because their loser parents sure don't.

Calm down & relax, Backto1776. It will come back to haunt him.........and maybe even do him in. For those other that don't know what we're talking about..........MCR is a true troublemaking troll. Even tho backto1776 and I know this, we will each occasionally come unglued because of the arrogant and what "he" will consider lack of intelligence. Whatever............I'm done for the night. Can't deal with the BS any longer tonight.
