SAN ANTONIO - The Northeast ISD school board voted Monday night to terminate a teacher who was accused of having a romantic relationship with a senior student.
"The school board decision was unanimous," said NEISD spokesman Vic Garcia.
School administrators were notified of the relationship between the Madison High School English teacher in his 30's and his 18-year-old student back in February.
Garcia told News 4 WOAI the teacher initially requested a hearing from the Texas Education Agency regarding his employment, but later withdrew his request.
"He's exhausted his appeal process," Garcia went on to say.
The district police department is reviewing and collecting evidence in this case, and will present all findings to the Bexar County District Attorney's office for further review.
