SAN ANTONIO - We have learned police have been called out dozens of times in the past year to Sugar’s Night Club where three people were shot Wednesday night.
Witnesses told police there was a fight between several people sitting at a table Wednesday night and two men pulled out guns and started firing at each other. One of the men was shot in the knee and arm and a 24-year-old dancer who was caught in the crossfire was hit in the buttocks.
Officers say the first shooter later showed up to a hospital with a gun shot wound.
News 4 San Antonio has learned the TABC has an active case in court against the club. TABC spokesperson Lt. Raul Salinas says TABC is denying the owners a license because of an extensive history of violations.
The club has settled on the violations against them which required them to pay costly fines. Sugar’s management would not speak on the shooting or the TABC case against them. We understand the club has settled on the violations against them which required paying some costly fines.
