SAN ANTONIO -- Two men were arrested after what police say was a brazen purse snatching.
The men are accused of grabbing five designer purses from the Neiman Marcus store at Shops at La Cantera Wednesday night. The two men then led police on a high-speed chase with speeds reaching 100 miles per hour.
The pair was finally caught after they crashed into a fence at a home off of Whitman and Oconee on the South Side. Police found five Louis Vuitton bags worth nearly $8,000 inside their car.
Investigators said one of the suspects, Steven Garcia, used a fake gun during the robbery. The other suspect, Arturo Vidales, was reportedly waiting outside in the driver's seat of the getaway car.
"We continued to pursue them from basically 410 and I-10 to way over here, where they abandoned their vehicle and fled on foot after which they were taken into custody rather quickly without incident," explained Lt. David Scepanski of the San Antonio Police Department.
Garcia and Vidales now face robbery charges.
