SAN ANTONIO -- Police arrested a suspected drunk driver they say led them on a chase Monday night.

Police spotted a car being driven erratically around 9:00 p.m. Monday. Officers said the car was going over lawns and hit another car. They followed the car for about three hours until the driver finally stopped at Darwin and Sloan Drive and took off on foot. Police K-9 units found the man in a nearby neighborhood.

The man now faces evading arrest and DWI charges.

Ms. District Attorney, As we have witnessed in Comal County it is now on the book of giving out a life sentence on drunk drivers. Thank you for your attention into this matter. I'm certain that between the gas spent in following this guy and the damage to other cars and lawns this will add up to a felony amount. It's time to now stop making any kind of deals, even with first time offenders. We don't need them to injure or kill someone to throw them in jail for a long time. As a victim myself I know the suffering it causes while they still hit the bars after a slap on the wrist..If my study into obtaining a drivers license is correct it is a PRIVILEGE not a RIGHT. When they are caught driving drunk they have violated their right to keep their license and I personally don't care if it's the mayor or the town bum..their PRIVILEGE to ever drive again should be pulled. They should have to spend a nice long time in jail to think it over, and under no circumstances be given a provisional license for work..There's the bus or taxi..or feet or a bicycle..but their days of owning and driving a motorized vehicle should me done. When is the public officials, that we elect, finally going to listen to the majority and punish these people to the fullest no matter what number it is. Drunk once means they just weren't caught before, trust me..just like a criminal..If you listen to them most will tell you that they had done the crime before, just never caught. And I would bet a month salary if the punishment was severe enough each time, the amount of offenders would drop like a stone. They'd finally get the idea that it's illegal to drink and drive. Sorry for the rant people, just tired of seeing this in the headlines..because there's no cause for it if OUR law makers would actually do the job we have asked them to do. THEY are suppose to work for US..not us for them.

Here's another one! Do we need a separate prison just for the drunk drivers?
