SAN ANTONIO - A brutal attack on a 68-year-old security guard a week ago was caught on tape.
In hopes it will lead to an arrest, police have released surveillance video of two men running over Jose Samuel Fernandez. It happened outside the Taqueria Mexico on Somerset Road. Fernandez was working security overnight when he was run down by two men in a truck and then beaten.
“At that point the other suspect got out of the vehicle and began to beat him over the head with an unknown object. He suffered a broken jaw, busted teeth and there were some severe injuries," explained SAPD Spokesman Matt Porter.
While Fernandez was lying on the ground and bleeding, one man starts to go through his pockets. Police don't know if anything was taken. The men took off in an older model, dark colored Ford F-150.
Fernandez was found inside his truck by some workers two hours later. Police don't know why he was targeted.
