A finance student's not-so-traditional internship request cover letter is getting lots of attention.

Julia La Roche and Joe Weisenthal of the Business Insider report "The cover letter below is unapologetically honest and people on Wall Street are calling it one of the best letters they have seen. Everyone on the thread agrees the letter shows energy and pluck and honesty."

What do you think? Would you hire this student?

Short answer- Yes, it would certainly deserve an interview at least. But that is speaking as a hiring manager, I am not sure how internships work. The thing that struck me was "Everyone on the thread agrees the letter shows energy and pluck and honesty." I couldn't help but think it's a shame the latter quality would make him a poor candidate for a Wall St. job. Wouldn't honesty automatically disqualify you?

Of all the hirings, and interviews I have done, this individual would move to the front of the line.
