SAN ANTONIO -- You never know what you'll find at police auctions. But what we found at one is just plain cool.

It is a 230-year-old journal from a general.

Somehow it ended up in the hands of a drug dealer and the San Antonio Police Department took it off his hands during a bust.

Sgt. James Smith says, “We only take things that are of value and it was kind of an afterthought [that] this is something we can sell at auction."

The value of the book is estimated between $1500 and $17,000.
