Shoe buffer blamed for fire

SAN ANTONIO - An electric shoe buffer is being blamed for starting a fire at a Northwest Side home.

The fire started around 12:00 a.m. Thursday at a home on Claybrook Street, near Braun Road and Old Tezel Road. Firefighters were able to put out the fire, but it caused roughly $70,000 worth of damage, including $40,000 of smoke damage.

The people in the house and their dogs all managed to get out safely.
