KERRVILLE, Texas -- Investigators say Scott Zirus was a counselor at Camp Stewart for Boys in Hunt, west of Kerrville.
He's accused of sexually assaulting three children over the summer.
The Kerr County Sheriff says his office is looking into possibly inappropriate comments Zirus may have made on social networking sites.
Also, other children have come forward with similar outcries against him since the original indecency charges were filed.
Zirus was part of an international camp exchange-program. The local camp says it did a background check on him and it came up spotless.
The camp also released a statement on Wednesday saying: “This is the first time we've had such an incident reported at Camp Stewart and have assured families that we will certainly do everything we can do to ensure it doesn't happen again.”
The camp also told News 4 WOAI safety is a top priority and it is saddened and disturbed by the charges. If convicted, Zirus could face life in prison.
