SAN ANTONIO -- As the temperature drops, non-profits are gearing up to help people get out of the cold.
Haven for Hope is expecting 600 people or more Monday night so to make room, they are opening up the cafeteria and passing out all the blankets and sheets so people can have a warm place to sleep.
Salvation Army has room for about 100 more people in the family and men's shelters. They're ready to put mats on the floor to make room for people after the beds fill up.
Both organizations need hats, gloves and even coats to pass out to people in need.
When the temperature drops below freezing, you should also remember to bring pets indoors, wrap your pipes and cover your plants. Also, be careful when using a space heater.
