SAN ANTONIO - The sequester spending cuts will have a huge impact here in San Antonio, particularly in the military community.

In Texas alone, $233 million will be cut from base operation funding.  Brent Boller from Joint Base San Antonio stopped by News 4 to talk about how the cuts will impact the Alamo City.

You're being played. This has been pending since 2011. NOW it's his crisis to throw blame around and hurt the ones that for the most part voted for him. Sounds like a brilliant plan, to you maybe?

Sorry AFretired -- the clubs and BX are non-appropriated funds services. Now the commissary, that is another story.

I can tell yall for certain things have changed a lot from when I was in .Most of your mundane every day work is done by civilian contractors now. When I was there we did a lot of the routine everyday stuff like policing and cleaning the barracks(inside and outside) doing our laundry , watch duty in the barracks as well as the different gates threw out the base, mess duty, and yes repair & maintenance of our equipment too .oh sure there's gonna be some folks out of a job .But come on now we have ALL this man power just standing around looking for some thing to do and were paying them .Dont it just seem right that we use that resource to our advantage.

I guess the officer and enlisted clubs will have to close down one day a week, oh the horror. They can find ways of cutting back without affecting mission critical operations if they look hard enough
