SAN ANTONIO -  The City of Selma has settled a lawsuit with a firefighter who says he was fired after confirming to investigators that Selma's Fire Chief made offensive remarks about Mexican Americans.

The City will pay former Captain Jeff Moczygemba $37,500.

Five thousand dollars of the money will come from taxpayers, the rest will be covered by insurance.

Moczygemba and two other firefighters accused Fire Chief Ric Braun of making derogatory comments... something Braun strongly denies.

Braun remains fire chief.

The firefighters who complained about him are no longer with the department.
