SAN ANTONIO -- A second child involved in a crash that happened during a drug bust Wednesday has died.
University Hospital officials confirmed 1-year-old Wesley Maspero died from his injuries Friday afternoon. Wesley was one of four children and two adults who were
traveling in a Volvo that was hit by a Suburban near Interstate 35 and Shepherd Road around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Police confirmed 3-year-old Walter Maspero died at the hospital a short time after the accident.
The driver of the Suburban,
30-year-old David Rodriguez, was fleeing from police with hundreds of pounds of marijuana, according to investigators. He has been charged with capital murder for the death of the Walter Maspero.
Officials also confirmed 4-year-old Wyitt Maspero and 30-year-old Regina Masper have been released. The other two victims, 2-month-old Wynnsday Maspero and 30-year-old Jimmy Aaron Leyba, are in stable condition.
