Condolences and prayers to the family. RIP little innocent souls. Sorry p.o.s. you have a date with a needle. Hope they turn you into a woman in prison before you die. Kill old folks or children and the prison population will serve real justice.

Wow to blame the police for what this murderer did is ignorant. When he was told/signaled to stop he should have complied period end of story. He chose to evade police, he chose to endanger lives by driving recklessly. Let's put the blame where it belongs with this scumbag who figured his shot at getting away was worth putting lives at risk and killing people over. I hope he has a second to think about that as they slip the needle in his arm...

aha hatsumomo, so you think the perp was running for no reason, then the cop was chasing him for no reason too. if was a witch hunt for weed that could've been resolved without chasing perps into traffic. "harmless weed" correct. If alcohol was illegal they'd be chasing the bud light truck into on coming traffic too. you can't change people by raising the stakes and causing deaths, sometimes you just have to leave people alone.

If you follow your line of thinking, then there should have been no reason for David Rodriguez to speed off and start a high speed chase if all he was carrying was "harmless weed". He should have just pulled over the MOMENT the cops flagged him. Instead he hit the gas and set all this tragedy into motion. To blame the police for the children's death is denying the hard truth in the face. The police did not kill these children, that lowlife did. And I hope he spends the restof his days rotting away in prison for what he choose to do.

Ths SAPD really have the finest personal and most modern police equipment. I am positive McManus will create a protocol to help eliminate deaths from unnecessary police chases. Ironically in a ABC news poll this week, 70% of Americans want to decriminalize marajuana use, too late for these children but still hope for future children.

Police killed 2 children and injured several other people in a hot pursuit. Yes the drug guys hit the car as they were being chased by police. Hot pursuit should be a criminal act as it endangers pedestrians, motorists, people at their residences and the general public. Might as well have a shoot out with perps and injure or kill innocent bystanders. When hot pursuits are used the perp and police cars are deadly weapons and often collateral damage happens. Was it worth catching these guys at the expense of a few innocents? This is what law enforcement needs to ask of themselves.

ohwhatnow, unfortunately the person responsible for this is a cop. she gave chase into traffic. McManus won't say how long and how far either. And it was all over weed. The same stuff that Snoop Dogg, Willie Nelson, and Kareem Abdul Jabbar smoke. (It's harmless, at least until the cops chase you for having it.) One day it will be legal and people will realize those kids died for nothing. I'd understand if it were heroin or cocaine, but these witch hunts over mary jane have got to stop before the cops cause more collateral damage. Poor kids, God be with them.

Praying for this family. We can only hope the person responsible forcibly becomes someone's special friend daily behind bars.
