ORLANDO, Florida -- One of the top young Scrabble players in the country is in big T-R-O-U-B-L-E.
Officials say he was caught cheating at the National Championship Tournament in Florida, where $10,000 was up for grabs. On Tuesday, a fellow player saw the unnamed boy hide blank tiles, instead of putting the tiles back in the grab bag. The teen 'fessed up' and was ejected.
A disciplinary hearing will be held to determine if he will face sanctions.
This is the first time in 30 years of competition that a player has been kicked out for cheating.
