@dltyler, I'm extemely sorry for your circumstance. Obamacare is showing in your situation why it won't work. My local, small town clinic (the only close source of medical attention available for so many...old, indigent, just plain needy) had to close due to Obamacare and the lower reimbursements for medicare and medicaid. The closest town of substance and a hospital has doctors not taking new patients, especially those on medicare or medicaid. The local ER is the best way to get treated, albeit the WAIT!!!! For one with sinus troubles, having to resort to ER services because I can't get a doctor willing to take on new patients, it's beyond comprehension, especially since I have good insurance under Hubby's employment......so far. The entire system is in the tank and on life support, especially with Obamacare. Okay, I'm gone. I'm an my soapbox on the wrong artice. But, dltyler, best wishes to you and hope you get the help and assistance you need and deserve.

They should also give the substitute teachers a pay raise. They need a bachelors degree just to be a sub and only get paid $75 a day. On top of that they need to put up with the crap they get from students since they know he/she is not the real teacher.

maybe if they were 2% better teacher we wouldn't have all the high school drop outs and blithering idiots the liberal education system has produced.

I work for a local hospital system. We receive 2% annually - at lease last few years - won't know about this year until September. But, they have eliminated other compensation - all bonus programs, 401 matching and sometimes we have mandatory pto (vacation) especially at year end and our medical insurance went way up. It hurts if you have 60 hours saved and are told you have to take off 40. Still, I am certainly glad to have a job and hope we get 2% this year. We are all expecting to be told there will be no raises. If they don't like it, they are free to look for work elsewhere but I am guessing there is nothing much better around. Maybe they should be thankful they have a job with some benefits.

Martinez...el que nace para buey hasta la coyunta lame...he who was born to be an ox, even the yoke licks. You think they are making you a favor for allowing you to clean their toilettes.George. Forget the dime...a 2% rise is laughable any way you look at it. You didn't assimilate the pay scale midpoint I referred to.

Freehole: If a 2% raise equals a a raise of $0.10/hr the base is $5.oo/hr. Do the math.

I work for the district. As a custodian. It is a very good place to work even the insurance is good. If people do not like it. They can go somewhere else. The door is always open. See if the union will take care of you.

Wood chippers would be extreme. I've seen both Fargo and Tucker and Dale vs. Evil- those can be messy indeed. Louisville sluggers perhaps?
